Get a GRIP.  Learn to improve and protect your grip strength for a long and healthy life

Saturday October 28, 2017           1:00-2:30

At the Movement Lab

“The hand is the tool of tools.” –Aristotle

We should never overlook the importance of grip strength when working out. Many people tend to type heavy and lift light, and as a result have difficulty holding things or putting weight through their hands.

Inadequate grip strength creates an “energy leak” that can affect the elbow, shoulders, and neck and become an indicator of future cardiovascular problems.

In this interactive workshop you will learn:

• Why grip strength matters, and how it can affect the elbow, shoulders, and neck

• Exercises and techniques to improve strength and flexibility of your grip, arms, shoulders, and back so you can prevent injury, and enjoy moving throughout your journey

• How to modify exercises or gripping techniques when necessary.

This is an 90 min interactive workshop that guides participants through the exercises that will increase their grip strength for pulling, holding, and pushing (weight bearing). This workshop is meant for participants at all levels, and would benefit anyone wanting to learn how to prevent or improve hand and wrist flexibility and strength (Anti-gravity, yoga, boxing, etc)
